Learning Blog Post #11

I'm working on a Warcraft poster for my Visual Balance activity.
For my CD cover, I'll just do a spoof of an already made album by Lamb of God or Tool or whatever.
I'm starving...
... Maybe some fries or something.
Not sure.
Anyways, I have an idea for possibly creating Warcraft sprites - which could also lead to being contributed to the game assignment at the end of the course. I'm really excited about that.
Well, here's my latest custom Pokemon sprite I made a few days ago.
Tell me what you think.
Anyways, five minutes and I'm going home for food and a little bit of World of Warcraft.
Farewell,
Bleed.

Negative Space

Well... it seems there's a lot more to composition than I had thought.
I'll have to pay closer attention to detail when I create and edit.
Rather than focusing on the positive space, I'm going to look more at the negative space of an image to determine an appropriate balance. I really don't have much of a response for this, so I'm going to conclude my thought. Just another element to consider when editing.

Sincerely,
Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #10 / Landscape Edit

Well... to be honest, I didn't get that much accomplished this class.
Other than editing a landscape photo, catching up with an old friend and... I think that's it, really.
What fun?

Here's my edit:

Changed from dawn to night... threw in some random planet and poof. There you have it.

That's about it, really...
How much more will we explore with photo editing? I cannot say, because I am not Mr. Powell.
But I'm sure we'll do something a little more interesting soon enough.
I'm pretty curious to what our project is going to end up being.
Oh well. Class is almost over.

Farewell,
Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #9

Well...
... I don't feel so good...
Physically and emotionally...
Agh...
... but, I did do a couple images... but not a lot of motivation to finish the last two...
Hopefully I'll do them at home... meh...

... I hate feelings...

But I'm excited for the gaming thing at the end of the semester...
... would really help expand my creativity...
Anyways... only a minute or so left...
So farewell..

Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #8

Well,
Today I edited a couple images in compliment to my assigned color theory assignment.
I've only completed two images, but I plan to finish the other three or so tomorrow, or perhaps during lunch after this class.
Regardless, I'll add the images to my last post when they're ready.
I also created a sprite during this class, suiting a complementary relationship of colors (purple and yellow, with a tiny detail of red). I'm very happy with the sprite and consider it a success.
With only one minute to spare, I will say my goodbyes.
So, farewell.

Bleed.

Color Theory Activity

I've edited a couple images to exemplify a couple color schemes.

First image: The butterfly cobras. This is a monochromatic scheme, considering it follows one color hue, and variates in value or shade.
My second image is Pyramid Head. I've given a purple, yellow and bronze-ish color scheme. His metal components being purple, while his skin a bronze, and finally, his robe portraying yellow. The rest is white and black. This could be considered a split-complementary relationship.
My third image is the beautiful necromorph slasher. I've given it a golden-yellow, light brown and a dull red color scheme. The bone mutations protruding from his hands are the brown, his general body being gold while his skull and upper chest cavity being red. This could be considered an anagolous color relationship.
My second necromorph - my holiday horror :3 - is a result of a complementary color relationship. Huzzah!

I'm nearly complete, with only two more images to complete. Citations will be posted shortly after.

Sincerely,
Bleed.

Sprite Modification #2

I've forged a few more sprites, so please comment.

Banner Rating

I almost forgot to post my self-evaluation on my banner.
I honestly think I could have done better, but I personally really like it, despite its lacking elements. I like the values of the colors and shades, I like the complimenting colors (for the most part), and I like my collage of characters. It follows a general, but not too specific, theme and is fairly fluent with the color scheme of the blog itself.
I rate it a 3/4.
Feel free to rate it yourself with a comment.

Thank you.
Bleed.

Palette Picking - My Scheme

Considering my personal favorite colors, I composed this particular scheme.

Please comment.

Color Theory - Questions

What is the difference between shade and tint?
- Shade is the level of monochromatic element that the image reflects
- Tint is the level of color that the image contains
What is the colour system used for printing?
- Magenta, Cyan and Yellow are used as primary colors
How can you ensure proper colour rendering in print?
What are complementary colours? Give an example
- Colors opposite of one another on the color wheel. Example: Red and Green.
What are tertiary colours? Give an example
- Colors formed by the mixing of secondary colors. Example: Magenta.
What is meant by a visually advancing colour?
- An advancing color is an active color that dominates in the dimension of standing out when contrasting passive colors. An active color being a bright red, whereas a passive color being a dark blue.
What could cause vibrating boundaries to occur?
How can you find a complementary colour without a colour wheel?
What is an after image?
- After staring at an image for a prolonged period of time, you may portray that particular image after dismissing the image you were staring at.
What is a monochromatic colour relationship?
- Having different shades of the same color hue in a color scheme.
What is an analogous colour relationship?
- Having colors close to one another in the color wheel compliment one another in a color scheme.
What is contrast?
- Contrast is the opposition of two elements or subjects.
What could cause simultaneous contrast to occur?
- A double-splitted complementary color scheme.
Name and describe three of Itten’s Colour Contrasts.
- The Contrast of Saturation: Juxtaposing two or more colors of light and dark, but within the same color saturation.
- The Contrast of Light and Dark: Juxtaposing light and dark values, regardless of saturation.
- The Contrast of Hue: Juxtaposing values of different hues.
How do you determine the dominant colour?
- The dominant color is basically the color that takes up the highest total amount of space in your sheme.
How can you create an accent with colour?
What is the difference between contrast dominant and value dominant?
- Contrast dominant would be the intensity of contrast between different colors and values, whereas value dominant would be the standing out of a particular brightness of a color.
What is one method of identifying possible options for colour schemes?
- With the theme of the subject in mind, determine what colors could portray that particular theme. Also, with the theme of the subject, you could determine what colors could attract the attention of viewers to that particular theme.

Learning Blog Post #7

"Poor boy... became... a slave... to use... rebuild... what's left... of this child... so weak..." - To Return, by Chevelle

The presentations were indeed boring. Thankfully we had enough time to get into the graphic design using Macromedia Fireworks, which I became fairly familiar with since the beginning of the semester in my Desktop Publishing class. I created my blog banner, which could look better with enough time and effort, but with only thirty or so minutes to spare, the above banner is what I produced - at least for now. Perhaps I'll work on a banner at home to replace it; I'm not sure. But either way, I've been consumed by anticipation for upcoming projects in this class. I'm excited for further graphic design, animation, game design, etc. But for now, I'll have to repress that excitement and focus on what we're doing now.
Anyways, I think that's all I have to say - for now.

Sincerely,
Bleed.

Sprite Modification

I've had a little time on my hands, believe it or not.

So I present a couple little creations I have recently given birth to.

Learning Blog Post #6

Basically,
Today, I sat through a few presentations with a decent dose of patience.
Learned about a couple sites I've never heard of, as well as a few sites I'm already familiar with.
One thing I didn't like about this was the two presentations on Myspace, considering it was fairly criticized when I personally really enjoy the site.
I forged a custom pokemon sprite through fusion of already made pokemon, and it turned out beautiful.
Aside from that, that is what I've accomplished today.
Oh, and I'm addicted to the song "In Debt To Earth", by Chevelle. Random thought.
Can't wait for graphic design. Excitement.
That's all for now.

Farewell,
Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #5

Not much to say today, especially with one minute to spare.
So I'll post this quick.
My power point is done - I think.
I'll have to review it tomorrow carefully and thoughtfully for specific advancements.
That's all I have time to say.

Farewell,
Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #4

Well, I'm a little excited about working on my powerpoint, considering I already have thoughts and ideas of how I'll present it - and hopefully I'll do a good job of doing so.
I'm still presenting MetaCafe, thank the abyss, and will definately put in great effort into its introduction to the class.
I wonder what I will gain from this assignment.

Warcraft Status

A simple and random post to give my online usernames for both of my World of Warcraft and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne accounts.

WoW - Server: Azuremyst - Character(s):
- Deadeternity: Night Elf / Druid (Feral)

WCIII:TFT - Server: Lordaeron - Username: TheUnbornDark

Updates will be made to this post as I progress.
Anyone who plays either of these games may post their usernames and/or character name(s) within comment in response to this post.

Farewell,
Bleed.

With Nothing To Gain, Here Is The Clincher

What's there to live for?
I don't think I'll ever know the answer....
... because the one thing I live for, has denied me....
... I don't know what to do...

Learning Blog Post #3

... I'm not feeling... too good... so my thoughts might... um... get lost... or something...
Anyways... um... apparently, Mog is only available to Americans... great...
Metacafe is my new target... my third... target... I've typed out a few notes and such and... well... yeah...
It's just like YouTube and MegaVideo and what-not... but yeah...
Um... eh...
Not much to gain from this site, really...
... Doesn't seem nearly as popular as YouTube... I'm sure it'll die eventually...
Yeah... I have no more thoughts as of now....
... goodbye.

Learning Blog Post #2

Today, we started to look at Web 2.0 and were introduce to our first project.
We are required to research one Web 2.0 site and present it through a powerpoint presentation.
Various information is required as well as review and recommendation.
It doesn't seem like the most exciting task, but it's not boring either.
I'm given until next friday before I must present my site: http://mog.com/
I'm not sure where this will take me or what I will learn, but I will soon find out and share that experience on this blog.
I have yet to create a user profile on "Mog", but I'm sure I'll try that when I get home today.
This is all I have to report.

Sincerely,
Bleed.

Learning Blog Post #1

Apparently, this is the format I am expected to follow for my learning blogs at the end of each class:
1. What did I do in class today?

2. What did I learn?

3. What did I find interesting?

4. What questions do I have about what I learned?

5. What connections did I make to previous ideas or questions?

So I will answer these questions on each post.

I learned a little more about blogs after watching a couple videos and being given an assignment based on citations and giving credit to their respected authors. I actually kind of enjoy posting information and am beginning to grow curious of what else I can do with my blog. Can I post various other forms of html? I would think, and hope, so. I never thought about blogs until yesterday when I first made this blog. Questions will manifest after taking a new found interest in this form of information sharing. We'll see how far I can take this.

Citations Activity - Dead Space (Brute)

The Brute is one of the strongest forms of Necromorph that Isaac may encounter. They are heavily armored and require a lot of patience, considering these monsters take a lot of damage before falling.

Strategy

The Brute may charge you on several accounts, dealing a lot of damage (Usually fatal on the Impossible difficulty). Strafing to the side is a simple way of avoiding its charge. Using your Stasis Module may also aid you in dodging his attack, as well as dealing out critical damage to the Brute before he recovers from his charge. The Brute is also in favor of smashing you into the ground; therefore, you should keep your distance. Despite his heavy armor, you may take advantage of the opening on its shoulders. The Plasma Cutter is a great tool for dealing damage to him head-on, so long as your shots are accurate. Don't get too carried away though, or you may not have enough time to avoid his charge. If you happen to take out one of its arms or legs (I've never done this before; therefore, I've never had to worry about this), an opening in its chest will become visible and will unleash exploding pustules upon Isaac. These deadly projectiles can be easily countered using the Stasis Module, and may also be used as a weapon if projected back at the Brute, also conserving ammunition. If you deal enough damage to the Brute, he may stop and curl up in defense, leaving him very vulnerable if you strafe behind him (Or if you're accurate enough, you can assault him right away by shooting the weak points in his shoulders). Be patient and be aware, or you will fall victim to the Brute's wrath.
